Overview
Loctour is a mobile social app built around places. Users register by phone, share posts tied to locations, follow others, and browse a privacy-aware feed on iOS and Android. The product needed a solid API and an admin dashboard so the app could ship with reliable auth, place data, and day-to-day user and place management in English and Arabic.
The Challenge
A place-tagged social app needs more than a simple content screen. Users needed phone verification, private profiles and follow requests, place ratings and visits, Google Place tagging, reporting and blocking, and bilingual place content. Without a clear mobile backend and admin layer, the app experience and staff workflows would stay fragmented. They needed one system that powered the mobile app and gave staff control over users and places.
The Solution
We built the Loctour mobile app backend and Metronic admin dashboard on Laravel. The API powers phone OTP auth, posts with media, likes and comments, follows and privacy, blocks and reports, curated places with ratings and visits, and Google Place records scored by use. The dashboard lets staff manage app users, roles, place types, and bilingual place content with map-based location entry.
The Result
People use Loctour on mobile to register, post at places, engage in the feed, and manage social connections. Staff maintain the place catalog and user base from one dashboard. English and Arabic support keeps place content and admin workflows aligned with the app’s audience.
Our approach
- Discover: Mapped mobile flows for auth, posting, places, follows, and moderation, plus the staff need to manage users and places.
- Design: Structured domains for Core, Content, and Location around the mobile app, with Sanctum auth, bilingual place fields, and a focused admin surface.
- Build: Delivered the V1 API that powers the iOS and Android app for posts, feed, social graphs, place ratings, Google Place scoring, and OTP login, with a Metronic dashboard for users and places.
- Refine: Tightened place and Google Place handling, follower lists, comments, likes, and activity tracking against real app usage.
